Selective Traffic Enforcement Program
December 1st through December 31st, 2007 - CHRISTMAS SEASON CHECK STOPS
The festive season is upon us, and as a result many people will be attending Christmas parties and functions where alcohol will be consumed. Unfortunately, some people will be driving after consuming too many drinks. The Calgary Police Service will be conducting Check Stop enforcement, targeting impaired drivers. There will be Check Stops located at numerous locations around the city from December 1 through December 31, 2007.
Each Thursday evening, Mothers Against Drunk Drivers (MADD) will be attending the Check Stops to assist the Calgary Police Service in educating and bringing awareness to the problem of drinking and driving.
Statistics from this campaign will be available Monday, January 7th, 2008
