Child Safety Restraints
Take the booster seat YES test
Using a car seat properly can reduce the likelihood of your child being injured or killed in a vehicle collision by as much as 75%.
Take the YES test as you are looking at your child's car seat in your vehicle. Push, pull and poke the seat until you can check off each item that applies.
- Infants should ride in rear facing seats until they are at least 9 kg (20 lb.) and one year of age.
- Toddlers between 9 kg (20 lb.) and 18 kg (40 lb.) should ride in forward facing seats.
- Children over 18 kg (40 lb.) are safest riding in a booster seat up to eight years of age or 36 kg (80 lb.).
