Functions of A Senior Liaison Officer
The Senior Liaison Officer's role is primarily to deal with seniors 60+ who have been caught in the "grey area" which lies between the criminal and the civil area.
Such matters include scams related to home renovation, door-to-door sales, bogus lotteries, family & friends attempting to gain access or hold of seniors financial affairs or to take away their investments/money, and seniors trying to remove their older siblings (age 40 - 60 years) from the home (the ones that do not want to leave).
In addition, the Senior Liaison Officer informs seniors and front line organizations by conducting information seminars to let them know the flags of abuse.
The Senior Liaison Officer also serves as a frequent resource to community professionals such as Calgary Regional Health workers (nurses, social workers, outreach workers or any other organization.
