PACT: the Police and Community Telephone System
Turn your telephone into a crime prevention tool
PACT alerts you to important situations such as criminal acts or requests for public assistance in cases such as missing children and other occurrences that require your attention. It also lets you know what the police - including the HAWC1 helicopter - have been doing in your area.
The Police and Community Telephone system (PACT) is a free telephone information service that works by automatically calling residents who subscribe, and playing recorded messages from the police.
PACT calls between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. If you're unavailable, the system leaves a message on most answering machines, or your number will be redialled after the other homes in your area have been contacted.
The information you receive from PACT can help protect your family and home and assist the police in protecting your community.

Receive police messages through PACT
PACT works by improving communications between police and the community.
PACT is an initiative of Block Watch, sponsored by EnCana, operated by the Calgary Police Service, and supported by the Federation of Calgary Communities.
A proven way to prevent crime
Rising crime rates are a critical concern in every household across the country. PACT provides a network that concerned citizens such as yourself can count on to bring the community and police closer together and clamp down on crime.
Once you begin getting messages, you can protect your family and property - while helping police monitor suspicious activities.
The success of PACT in Calgary communities depends on your participation in this proven and powerful program. Plus it doesn't cost a penny to protect yourself with PACT.

Seniors PACT System alerts seniors to frauds and scams
The Calgary Police Service has launched the Seniors PACT (Police and Community Telephone) system to notify seniors of the latest frauds and scams occurring in Calgary.
The Seniors PACT system works the same as the regular PACT system. Seniors not only receive the same information as their neighbours about what is happening in the community, but also information about frauds and scams targeted at seniors in the city.
"This new program is a quick and easy way to make seniors aware of any scams," said Constable Kate Savage of the Crime Prevention Unit. "As soon as we are aware of the latest scheme, we can pass on the information directly to the seniors in their own homes."
Registration forms for the Seniors PACT system are available at any Calgary Police Service district office or community station. Seniors can also enrol by calling 645-2990 and stating that they are a senior.
The Police and Community Telephone system (PACT) is fully sponsored by EnCana.
