Our Mission: "To optimize public safety in the City of Calgary"
Cops For Kids
The Calgary Police Service believes in strong community partnerships, especially with Calgary's youth. One of the Service's youth-orientated programs is Cops for Kids.
This mentorship program brings police officers and kids together for sporting events, educational activities and other opportunities that may be inaccessible to many Calgary kids.
Cops for Kids is open to all local youth aged six to 17. There is no financial obligation to parents or groups involved in the program, as all events are fully funded. Transportation is provided for all events.
The goals of Cops for Kids are:
- To promote a sense of trust between law enforcement officers, children and teens.
- To help Calgary youth see police officers and their jobs in a positive light.
- To foster a realistic concept of police officers.
- To provide young people contact with positive role models.
- To provide educational and recreational opportunities for children and teens.
You can join Cops for Kids through community associations, athletic clubs or youth groups.
Cops for Kids is a community partnership between the Calgary Police Service, Big Sisters and Big Brothers of Calgary and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Calgary.
