District 4 is situated in the heart of East Calgary. It includes light industrial areas, a large retail sector and 14 residential communities. The constables based out of the facility on 12 Avenue and 32 Street N.E. serve a region spanning from 16 Avenue N.E. in the north, the city limits in the east, south to 50 Avenue S.E. and in the west to Deerfoot Trail North and Barlow Trail North of Memorial Drive East. |
District 4 officers are assigned to 5 geographic areas within the District and work various shifts around the clock responding to calls for service. Several others officers are assigned to different units within the District as follows:
- 6 Detectives assigned to the General Investigative Unit (GIU)
- 6 officers assigned to a District Response Team (DRT)
- 5 Community Liaison Officers (CLO's)
- 4 officers assigned to Mountain Bike Unit (2 officers year round)
- 2 officers assigned to a Break and Enter detail
- A full time crime analyst and civilian support staff
Community surveys indicate residents are most concerned about youth crime, drug and gang activity, break-ins and traffic safety. These concerns are a priority for the officers of District 4 and are addressed by the assignments of officers to the areas listed above.
District 4 continues to be one of the busiest District's in the city. The officers and civilian staff are committed to providing the time and energy to resolve issues facing the communities we serve. We encourage the public to contact us with any questions or concerns at 567-6400 or district4@calgarypolice.ca.
