             CITYBEAT - CITY OF CALGARY PRESS RELEASE

    Fire officials believe they have narrowed down the cause
of a blaze that damaged three homes in the community of
Evergreen at approximately 2200 hours Thursday evening. At
this time, investigators believe the fire originated on the
deck at the rear of 150 Everoak Garden and quickly spread to
the adjacent home. Despite the challenge of the wind,
firefighters were able to quickly gain control over the
blaze. 

  Investigators believe the fire was caused by one of three
electrical cooking appliances on the deck. These appliances
have been sent away for further testing. The damage is pegged
at approximately $525 000 for structure and contents on all
three homes.
