Date: Thu Nov 5 15:19:45 2009 Subject: PA/MRU #09-543 SEEKING PUBLIC ASSISTANCE From: Emma Poole -----BEGIN MD5 ----------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------- CITYBEAT - CITY OF CALGARY PRESS RELEASE ----------------------------------------------------------------- The Calgary Police Service is seeking public assistance in locating a man who is alleged to have robbed a northeast dry cleaning shop three times in as many weeks. The first robbery at Temple Dry Cleaning and Alterations, 5401 Temple Dr. N.E., occurred around 12:20 p.m., on Monday, Oct. 19, 2009. A man walked in to the store and pulled out a knife, pointed it at the employee, and then demanded cash. Similar robberies at the store occurred on Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009, and Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009. In each robbery the offender is described as having a medium skin tone, possibly of East Indian origin, 30 to 40 years old, 5’8” to 5’10” tall and between 140 and 150 pounds. The man was wearing a grey hoodie, jeans, and a white toque with a dark-coloured pattern on the top. The suspect also has noticeable acne scars on his face. Police are releasing several photographs of a man who may have information about this case. These photos will be sent to the media via e-mail. Anyone with information about these robberies, or who may recognize the man in the photos, is asked to call investigators at 403-567-6500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222 -8477.
