Police are investigating whether these incidents are related. The most recent incident occurred on Monday, Aug. 17, 2009, at approximately 1:30 p.m. A man was riding a blue bicycle near a playground in the 1400 block of Northmount Drive N.W. He stopped his bike near playground equipment and began urinating. He then walked towards three girls, with his genitals out of his pants. The girls fled the area on their bikes. The man is described as Caucasian, with tanned skin, a pot belly and light-brown hair with white hair on his legs. He was wearing dark sunglasses, a black-and-white striped shirt, dark-blue jeans and a blue ball cap. He was riding a blue mountain bike. While investigating this incident, police learned about three other incidents that have occurred in the same area since June 24, 2009. On Wednesday, June, 24, 2009, at approximately 12:40 p.m., a group of students were playing in a playground in the 1400 block of Northmount Drive N.W., when a man was lingering on the other side of the fence. After an adult supervisor told the children to move away from the fence, one of the students saw the man expose himself. The man is described as Caucasian, with dark hair. He was wearing black sunglasses with silver rims, a black T-shirt, dark jeans and a hat. He had a blue bicycle. On Friday, July 31, 2009, at 12:45 a.m., a 16-year-old female was walking near Brisebois Drive and Northmount Drive. N.W., when a man stepped out of the bushes. His shirt was pulled up over his nose and he said “hi” to her. When she looked down she noticed his penis was sticking out of the open zipper of his pants. The man is described as Caucasian, 5’11” tall, 35 to 45 years -old, with tanned skin, a chubby face, a pot belly, light, sandy-coloured, slightly balding hair, wearing a navy T -shirt, black cargo shorts and tan or light brown sandals. On Monday, Aug. 10, 2009, at approximately 3:30 p.m., two girls were at a playground in the 1400 block of Northmount Drive N.W., when a man rode up to the park and started to play on the equipment near them. He then unzipped his pants, exposing himself to the girls, who ran to contact one of their parents. The man then rode away on his bike. The man is described as Caucasian, 35 to 40-years-of-age, approximately 5’7” tall, with tanned skin, a medium build, blond with white-and-grey shaved hair. He was wearing black sunglasses, dark-blue jeans, a black hooded sweater with silver lettering and a red border over his left chest, and white sneakers. He was riding a dark-coloured mountain bike. Police are also investigating a similar incident, but the suspect in this case was not riding a bicycle. On Thursday, June 25, 2009, at approximately 8:30 a.m., two girls were walking northbound on 14 Street towards 10 Avenue N.W., when they saw a man laying on the ground on his back, and he appeared to be masturbating. He hid behind a shed when he saw the girls. Moments later, the girls saw the man again in a tree. The man ran to a red Dodge Ram truck and was seen backing into a light pole before fleeing eastbound on 16 Avenue N.W. The suspect is described as Caucasian, approximately 5’7” tall, with a light tan, brown, ear-length hair and a pot belly. He was wearing tan-coloured cargo shorts, a black ball cap with writing on it, dark sunglasses and running shoes. Police encourage parents to teach their children what to do when approached by a stranger, or when they see inappropriate behavior.
