On Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2008, at approximately 3 a.m., three masked men broke into a home in the community of Evanston. Once the men were inside, they discovered a man. They tied up the 37-year-old male victim and demanded money. The men then fled the residence and as they were leaving, one of the culprits turned back towards the house and fired one shot from a handgun. No one was injured as a result of the shooting. As the men were fleeing the scene, HAWC2 was overhead and saw the offenders getting into a vehicle. The vehicle was followed until uniform officers from District 7 were able to stop the vehicle safely a short distance away. All three men were arrested without incident. A loaded handgun was recovered at the scene. Joshua Patrick FEAGAN, 22, of Calgary, is charged with break and enter (house), unlawful confinement and assault with a weapon. Joseph Colin MACNEALE, 22, of Calgary, is charged with break and enter (house), assault with a weapon, uttering, convey, cause threat to a person, pointing a firearm, possession of weapon or imitation for a dangerous purpose, possession of restricted/prohibited weapon with ammunition. Joel Bancraft PHAGE-WRIGHT, 25, of Calgary, is charged with break and enter (house) unlawful confinement, uttering, convey, cause threat to a person and assault with a weapon. It is believed this incident was a targeted attack; however, the victim in this case was not the intended target. Investigation into the incident is continuing and more charges are anticipated.
