Subject: First Baby Delivery for Fire Department New Recruit

             CITYBEAT - CITY OF CALGARY PRESS RELEASE

    At approximately 07:30 this morning, The Calgary Fire
Department and Calgary EMS responded to the 100 block of
Applemont Close S.E to assist in a baby delivery. The
delivery of a baby girl went quite smooth and was the
families' second child. 

   A compliment of four firefighters and paramedics assisted
in the delivery. Amongst the four firefighters was a new
recruit that has only been with the Fire Department for
approximately six months. Clay Brophy, the new recruit,
stated "I was just happy to be a part of the whole operation"
and " it was something to see how happy the mother was when
she was given her baby girl." 

   The fire crew at number twelve fire hall would like to
congratulate the family on their new arrival.
