At about 9:55 PM on Friday the 9 May 2008 a uniform police
officer was made aware of an incident that occurred on the C
-Train platform in the 100 block of 7 Ave SE.

The officer quickly determined that a 43 year old male had
been on the C-Train platform and had been struck by an
eastbound train just arriving at the station.  The officer
and members of LRT security ensured the train would not move
then went under the train and were able to locate the male
under the overhang of the train platform about halfway down
from the front of the first car of the train.  They were able
to quickly move the male out onto 7 Ave where he was treated
and transported by EMS to hospital with potentially life
threatening injuries.

Initial investigations indicate that no foul play was
involved and that the male either fell or stepped out in
front of the train.

The Traffic Section is conducting the investigation.
