May 8, 2008, Calgary – The City of Calgary, Roads advises
motorists to be cautious while driving tonight and tomorrow
as a heavy spring snowfall is expected. Motorists are urged
to slow down, be patient and particularly careful at
intersections, bridge decks, ramps, and overpasses.

Weather conditions can change rapidly, and The City is
monitoring conditions in order to determine appropriate
response levels. Roads Maintenance crews and equipment are on
standby begin plowing or salting in order to remove and melt
snow on main roads. If required, more crews will be called in
to provide additional support. 

The highest priority is assigned to major roadways with
traffic exceeding 20,000 vehicles per day, designated
emergency routes, and trouble spots. 

Alberta Infrastructure and Transportation is responsible for
snow and ice control on Deerfoot Trail. For information,
