             CITYBEAT - CITY OF CALGARY PRESS RELEASE

This afternoon at approximately 2:00pm, The City of Calgary
Emergency Medical Services attended to the intersection of
Vandergrift Crescent and Valiant Drive NW for reports of a
shooting. On arrival, paramedics quickly identified two
patients on scene:

Patient #1) a 17 year old male who was transported to
hospital in stable, non life threatening condition;

Patient #2) a 19 year old male who was transported to
hospital in critical, life threatening condition. This
patient has succumbed to his injuries in hospital.

The circumstances surrounding this incident are under
investigation.
