             CITYBEAT - CITY OF CALGARY PRESS RELEASE

    The two alarm fire in Coral Springs has been
extinguished. Fire crews were able to knock down the blaze
that had them on scene for several hours. Investigators
believe the fire started in the basement but have yet to
enter the structure to confirm. A fire crew will remain on
scene for the evening for continuity and to ensure there are
no flare ups. There is significant damage to the inside of
the home including large holes in the floor where the fire
burned through. Also, various structural floor joists have
been charred and compromised. The investigators will commence
their investigation in the morning light only if the
remaining structure is safe to enter. 

   The five family members have made their own arrangements
for accommodations. Residents that were evacuated from
adjacent homes are now allowed to return back to their
houses. The initial damage estimates including structure and
contents is believed to be around $500 000.
