Subject: Vehicle crashes into home in the S.W

             CITYBEAT - CITY OF CALGARY PRESS RELEASE

    The Calgary Fire Departments Confined Space Team along
with the district pump was dispatched to the 9400 block of
Oakmount Drive S.W for reports of a vehicle driving into a
house. The half tonne truck drove into the front of the home
at approximately 01:30 this morning and the driver has been
taken to hospital. The occupants of the home were not injured
as a result of the crash. 

   The Fire Department remains on scene to assist in the
removal of the truck and to ensure the home is structurally
sound. A tow truck has been dispatched to aid in the removal.
Firefighters shut the gas off to the home until the
extrication is complete and the occupants of the home will be
allowed to return if it is safe and secure. Calgary Police
Service are investigating the crash. The status of the driver
can be obtained through EMS.
