             CITYBEAT - CITY OF CALGARY PRESS RELEASE

    Investigators have completed their investigation of a
fire that consumed two homes and damaged a third in the
community of Shawnessy on May 1st at 19:30. The fire is
believed to have started from a barbeque that spread to a
fence and eventually made its way to the corner of the house.
The upper deck of the home became involved with fire,
intensified, and spread to the adjacent home. The fire has
been deemed accidental in nature. 

   Initial damage estimates between the three homes combined
is approximately $650 000 and approximately $250 000 in
contents. Thirteen pieces of fire apparatus and thirty
firefighters responded to the incident.
