On Saturday, 2008 May 3, at approximately 1:50am, police
responded to a report of a shooting in the 800 block of 6
Street SW.

Unpon arrival Police located a male victim lying on the
ground, who had been shot several times in the legs.  The
shooting victim was transported to hospital with serious, non
-life threatening injuries.

Investigators believe a man confronted the victim and shot
him several times before fleeing the scene.

Police have arrested the man believed responsible for this
incident and criminal charges are pending.

Police are extremely concerned whenever there are incidents
of violence.  Anyone who witnesses such an incident is
encouraged to call police at 266-1234, or Crime Stoppers at 1

Anyone who may have witnessed this particular incident, and
have not yet spoken to police, is encouraged to call the
above numbers, or District One, General Investigations Unit
at 567-6100.
