At approximately 1:45pm on Sunday, 2008 May 4, police were
called to a home on Deercrest Close SE, for a report of a
stabbing. 

Police learned an adult male was inside a home when an
unknown intruder entered and stabbed him several times.  The
assailant fled the scene, and police are actively
investigating the matter to determine his identity.

The victim was transported to hospital, where he was listed
in serious, but non-life threatening condition.

Police do not believe this to be a random act of violence,
and feel the public at large is not in danger relative to
this incident.

Anyone with information of this crime is encouraged to
contact Crime Stoppers or the District 8 General
Investigations Unit.
